59Punjab Technical University,Jalandhar was established in 1997 & has 288 colleges under its affailiation, out of which 82 offer engineering courses. Recently Dr.Rajneesh Arora who has attained B-Tech (Elec.) and PH.D from IIT-Delhi. was appointed as VC.
ADMISSION PROCESS; Admission to PTU affiliated engineering colleges is through the common enterance test held in the month of May. Even the counseling for other state level universities like GNDU-Amritsar,Punjabi University-Patiala,PAU-Ludhiana is held by the PTU under the same plateform.
Other states: The students of other states are not required to appear for CET & can apply for all the institutes on the basis of their AIEEE rank.
